Wasn't it true at one point tpb tried to make their own country

Update: According to the police the raid targeted a data center in Nacka which is built into a “mountain.”

Built... into a mountain?

PirateBay is immortal. Not sure why people keep trying to take it down.

TPB has a fantastic system where none of the actual data is saved on the front end server. Let me see if I can find the article about it, but basically it's hosted on a bunch of VPSes in an encrypted format so that if the police raid the main datacenter all they lose is the front end linkage and all they have to do is throw up a new front end server at another datacenter and wait for the DNS entry to propagate.

Here it is. https://torrentfreak.com/pirate-bay-moves-to-the-cloud-becomes-raid-proof-121017/

They tried to buy Sealand

I think tpb is dead

I read they're moving to Costa Rica, and if $trinick is correct, then they should be up as soon as they set up their main front there.

For a second I thought the title said "Stocking takes down ThePirateBay"

No, the Costa Rica one is a scam

instead of trying to take it down they should just replace every single torrent with a virus......
