Author Topic: google dun don tracked me down  (Read 858 times)

Rant time kind of

i tried to upload a video from the same ip adress, same device, same account, google blocked it for being in an "UNSAFE LOCATION ATTENTION ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED NOW U R PROBS BEING HACKED LOL"

then i found this out. it didnt surprise me too much, but really? why the forget would this be important to me? maybe a big youtuber, but not me. they make you put your personal information in order to make custom thumbnails but they dont even ask you to keep track and note down every single login at the time, city, state, country, ip adress, device, etc. along with every single time i've ever logged in and where i logged in

WHY IS THERE EVEN A PERSONAL INFO TAB
THIS IS A SITE TO MAKE VIDEOS TO SHOW PEOPLE

Oh and the banner when i log in wont even go away that says someone (me) has logged in from a suspicious (my house) location

Google takes the security of its users relatively seriously.

shouldnt it be the person taking their own security seriously
man if only google would listen to complaints.

I honestly don't see too much harm in this if you just want to ensure your account isn't compromised or something, but I can somewhat understand since you didn't exactly request for this.

All they're doing is trying to prevent random people from getting into your account if they somehow manage to get your password. It can be annoying at times but it really is for the better.

i guess, but once again it should be optional. and not block me for being on my account at my friends house.

Being someone with nothing to hide, this still bothers me.
Setting aside Big Brother NSA Skynet paranoia, security should ultimately be a personal responsibility, and if someone want to delegate it to Google that's their business.  That's the price you pay for Google though, sadly.

yep. i wish you could just select what features you want your account to use and to not use. thanks for the offer google, but i'd rather just use you as a search engine

I have Google do the two-step authentication for every computer other than my desktop and my phone.

they forced me to change my password because i was using a proxy to get on youtube at school a couple times

am I the only one that hasn't been confronted by google's security?
