Author Topic: Does anyone else hate the "new" Skype?  (Read 2604 times)

The second Microsoft got their grubby little hands on it they ruined it imo.

First off, look at this:

And let me show you the "new" Skype, circling which is bad:

I hate ANYTHING that's Metro'd to the extreme. It's clunky, buggy, and it forgets with the old groups I've been in. Which means, I CAN'T SEE THE SKYPE GROUP PICTURES OR OTHER stuff.

Microsoft forgets with too much stuff, just like Google forgets with too much stuff. I hate it.

Do you guys feel the same?

you have some strange friends, OP

Yes so much

its why I never update my skype.

It looks cool and slick, but it crashes too much

looks fine to me

Perfectly fine, looks better than the last boring slide theme it was going for.

it's a program for sending messages and talking
i don't get how it can be bad

looks fine to me. quiz yer bitching and be glad they're not charging for calling overall.

Metro is love
Metro is life

Is it bad that I use the Windows 8 app of skype instead?

And BTW Microsoft never made the new ugly version for Linux. The Linux version is the old skype.

I use that too on the rare occasion that I actually use Skype.

maybeee.

i've had good luck with this app and i generally like it better than the old one.

I just like how in 8.1 you can split the desktop and have a metro app running on the side of it.
