Couldn't someone run ssh username@address 'bash' and get shell access that way?
Perhaps you could order one and see if you can!

The instructions were easy to follow. I highly recommended this service.

Do you have to use putty?

blocknet looks supr kewl

Do you have to use putty?
no, but it's hands down the best client for Windows.

You can use any working "ssh client" on any platform, including mobile devices.

including mobile devices.
now I wish I had a way to pay for this...

If you want to access blocknet from android, I would recommend https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.connectbot&hl=en
as the resident paranoid forget cyber-security nerd, I second this particular recommendation.

If I order a $10 server + the $1 rental key a month, will it automatically take the money out of my account each month or send me emails with an invoice asking me to pay?

EDIT: I just ordered a server :)

You are sent an invoice each month that you pay at your convenience.

Hey. I have been trying to access blocknet with the Android app ConnectBot. I have been using my host at port 22 like normal. My password is never accepted though.

You may just be having a hard time entering it correctly on mobile. Try setting the password to something simpler through your control panel first.
