Author Topic: Scammer took 9 unusuals need all the help!  (Read 3834 times)

A scammer http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/xxcolinxx has taken 9 of my unusuals and sold them, I have proof of him sending me a phishing link then somehow taking 9 unusuals from my bp. Please report!

How did he take? You mean you gave to him...

I would normally feel bad for you since you got scammed but all the steam scams are hilariously bad, it's a wonder that anyone ever falls for them.

I didn't, somehow he got on my account even though I never clicked the phishing link... I got a pic of the imgur here it is http://imgur.com/6QUBw6Z

Wasn't there already a similar thread to this like a week ago?

Edit: Yeah there was apparently. Anyway, the link to the profile gives me an error. Maybe he already got banned?

There is no need to lie to us. We are a forum of semi comp savvy people.
We know you clicked the link

I just got this in the mail today also http://imgur.com/sKtB8Oz

Then how did he get onto your account, I feel like you're lying.

Lol, dude, there's no way to just get onto your account and trade items because of something called SteamGuard that basically makes it so that they need to get into your email account to log in. Unless both your steam account and email passwords are incredibly weak and exactly the same, you clicked on the link and ran the program it downloaded, or entered in your credentials and then entered in the steamguard code.

Fun fact: you can't trade unless you have SteamGuard on.

You're confusing me, what I did was didn't click the link, then got my account email said being accessed then couldn't get on and had to re-enter my password and get a new one. Then my unusuals were gone and I checked my item history to find they were all traded away.

but you did click the link

So you think people can just hack you by sending you a link you don't even need to click.

How stupid do you think we are
