Author Topic: "The Interview" Release Cancelled by Sony Pictures due to North Korea's Threats  (Read 3839 times)

Sony Pictures was hacked recently it was found that North Korea ordered the hacking. The reason for this hacking was due to the film "The Interview" starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, the plot involves killing the North Korean leader Dennis Rodman's Pal. This did not go well with Kim and had the entire Sony Pictures Studio hacked and leaked out it's contents. They even claimed that there would be consequences to releasing this film.

Day's Later, Sony finally cancels the film from releasing on Christmas day due to these threats.

What a shame, the movie looked pretty funny

they shouldve released it anyways

so they spent probably a year on this and because some insane korean guy that probably doesn't have said "missiles of mass destruction" when he can't even getting the internet working said "i'l shot rokit at u" they cancelled it

they should just release it a few months from now with nothing to announce it

Sony had an extremely bad breach of security this week. Lots of movies leaked, and lots of sensitive information leaked (passwords, digital certificates, etc). NK threatened to hack Sony if The Interview was released (ps if you didn't even bother to read OP it says it right there). Even if their "hacking team" was stuff, I'm sure they could get through.

When I saw the trailer when it first came out I was thinking that it would offend North Korea. No surprise.

i knew stuff would be thrown by korea since the first time i seen the previews.
