Author Topic: An unhinged nutcase wants to bring guns back to Australia  (Read 2271 times)

"Australia is a nation of victims."

Contrary to your belief, you cunt, banning guns has only done wonders for this backwards nation. If we bring them back, I can already guess murder sprees will be proportionally higher than America.

Maybe he needs to watch this;

I dont know about whoever preaches gun control, but in a nation without citizen gun ownership, the only people that have guns besides the police are outlaws.

I'd rather for there to be less people holding guns than for the whole population of Australia, one made of loving morons who glass and one hit punch people nightly, to be given access to weapons so that they can commit murder quicker than they can already.

technically like 95% of the people on that godforsaken island are criminals or descendants of criminals so no thnx

Turns out that breaking the law is actually not hereditary.

Criminals don't listen to laws anyways. I don't see why people think they can ban violence. Banning instruments of violence do not make it any more difficult to murder or assault somebody, the means just need to be different.

It's not about banning violence, it's about slowing down and limiting who has access to weapons. People here are idiots. I'd rather only a small proportion of the population has access to guns, instead of every idiot under the sun with a grudge being able to carry it out.

Fun fact. 100,000,000+ (EDIT)REGISTERED/LEGAL(EDIT) gun owners in the US didn't shoot someone today.

There's a fine line between not murdering everyone with a gun and not being responsible with firearms.

Lots of people in the US don't have proper firearm training, and if they ever have to use a gun in dire circumstances, they're as much as a danger as the criminal they're pulling a gun on.

With that said, most people who own guns will never have to use them besides target practice or hunting

Guns don't make people more violent. You're assuming a few things

At least in America, guns need to be registered, so if someone does shoot someone else, the gun can be traced back to the owner. It's not like guns make people any more violent.

If anything, mental health awareness is a bigger problem. In Britain, for example, banning handguns did nothing to stop crime, as shown by the chart below

Spending time and money enforcing the ban on guns is a waste imo because anybody who wants to kill someone will find another way or just find an illegal gun. Legalizing guns while having proper gun control is a much more sensible option, because you're then not robbing responsible owners of their privilege

I'm not a gun not and I'm not against reasonable gun control, but comparing the situation of the United States with another country like Greenland or Australia is kind of fallacious reasoning. Different cultures and different problems create gun violence.

Guns don't make people more violent.
People here are already violent. Having access to guns is not going to change that. What will change is the type of attacks, and the death rate, since as far as I understand, glassings and one hit punches are pretty deadly, but not to the same level as being gunned down.

I loving know that guns don't kill people; people do. That's the point. Australians can not be trusted with weapons.

Nobody would support gun control or gun training unless if it was completely tax free and was super lenient, and that will do absolutely nothing to stop the outlaws from getting guns (or making them) through their usual illegal sources.

We don't need vigilantes or civilians armed. Despite the depictions on the news, gun violence is actually relatively low, and police make arrests and seize illegal weaponry fairly frequently. Legal guns will only compound the problem.
