i really have wondered ever since i join blf back in 2012 why theres no search button when not logged in

Does it work like that? I honestly have no idea.

Some forums do the same thing, you can't search unless you register an account.

I don't know why, guess it's just how they want it to be.

Badspot removed it a year or two ago to make it harder to DDoS the website. Search queries take a lot of processing power, so making it where you have to pay money to search is a first-line deterrent, with the second line of defense being that Badspot can check which users have been spamming search requests and ban them.
