u could make an addon and give it to people that connects to a server and downloads addons automatically
or am I dreaming

Also guys, don't dismiss this as being bologna:

Also it would be interesting if there was a file host verification that would allow guests on servers to download only verified mods, like suppose there was a "Mod Security Key" in a text file that verifies it's safety, and when the server starts, it refers to the database, which verifies if the version you have matching the MSK is safe, character by character, and then installs it on the client if it passes.
Ever heard of websites like VeriSign and DigiCert? They use a thing called a Digital Signature which can be used not only for verifying that a website is legit, but also that a trusted group of coders has verified that an addon is not malicious.

I have not heard of it, no.  It sounds exactly like I was suggesting; thank you for sharing.  Additionally, is it possible to download this through the normal server loading processes and activate anything that needs to be established without requiring a restart or ending up with bugs, or would it be safer to do a warning dialogue before connecting?  Or perhaps force load all the client stuff, and then force a re-connect?

I just thought, wouldn't steam workshop solve all the problems in this topic? But Badspot probably won't add it  :panda:.

No.  Been discussed countless times and the conclusion has always been that Steam Workshop is not on the table, nor will it ever be.

You're welcome, and those sites are the ones that, like I said, allow your web browser to say, verify that google.com is really google.com and not some foreign attacker.

So when you see that (in google chrome) you know the website is legit.

Bumper Cars.

A lot of people are requesting this, and it gives noob players a better experience who forget to turn it on or don't even know about the option.

When I join a css server the last thing I'm thinking about are viruses. (Isn't that why we have anti-virus programs?). I would even just be happy if download sounds/music were enabled by default giving the players option to turn it off but giving majority of players a good experience.

If there was ever a working workshop then maybe this would be cool
but theres no moderation for it

I doubt steam workshop will be added, so why don't we make a whole new workshop system just for Blockland? In fact if it sounds good I could get started tomorrow.

that would be rtb

Wait, did rtb load sounds/textures automatically? I forgot.

With RTB, you had the ability to download the add-ons directly from their site if it was public.
Reducing add-on load times greatly, since you could download them at much faster speeds then normal loading.

Like a fastdl server I guess, I'm going have a go at making a system similar to rtb. So far there's only one person interested, I was hoping there would be a few more.

Good luck, have fun kiddo
