For now, apparently he was holding a handgun at them, so the police so far aren't in the wrong. Look, I understand that people are standing up for a cause, but whatever color you are, don't point a gun directly at an officer, it won't end well.

Cops and people defending themselves usually get stuff on by lawyers for "causing undue suffering" when they use lethal force but do not kill someone. A dead person can't sue people, right?

getting shot from anywhere is lethal if not treated efficiently or quickly, even getting shot in the lower heel of your foot can potentially kill you.

it's pretty much determined if the bullet didn't hit anything that is even partially vital whatsoever that you can still walk with a bullet inside of you, though that itself is not even recommended.
