I hope these are all jokes like the last one
satan already made that joke
How are they jokes? Ive seen paintings go for 1000's of dollars, and they pretty much serve the same purpose a sword im going to hang on the wall. The only difference is that paintings only have one purpose, whereas my swords can help me pick up m'lady *tips fedora*

Definitely cool and not that pricey. But I'm more into historical European swords.

historical european is a broad term bro

Paintings can be studied for historical importance. There's these "5 perspectives" people use to brown townysis paintings and learn about the culture it came from. Part of the reason we know so much about the Greeks and the Romans is because we're able to study their life through their art.

Swords are similar, except they have a much more limited scope. We can only learn what kind of materials were available to a culture at any given time. If we're really lucky, we can figure out who owned it, and maybe how soldiers of different ranks were treated, but that requires the sword be in great condition.

Probably don't believe in it, but they say that some paintings also give out different feelings. Like, they can change the entire atmosphere of a room.

I'd rather have a painting of some random guy from the Renaissance than a sword from the Crusades.

You.
I'm not worth $200  :cookieMonster:

>not glorious nippon steel katanas
good
Yeaaaaah, im not one of those. I dont particularly like katanas, but I apparently anyone that collects things other than large pink carrots is a neckbeard around here.

Medieval/Renaissance swords is probably less broad?

Okay, cool. Well you can do what you want with your money. I honestly dont see why you're being such a richard because I want to spend my money on something you dislike.

I'm not trying to be. I'm just curious on why you want a sword. We aren't allowed swords over here so I never really understood the appeal.

Im really into history stuff. I wouldnt call myself a history buff, but I definitely really enjoy reading about all sorts of historical events and wars. It just so happens that most of my interest is during the late dark ages/early renaissance in Europe. And I guess due to my interest in that, I also quite enjoy collecting swords and other historical things. Im not a neckbeard about it, either. Most of my friends dont even know I collect this stuff, and im fortunate enough to also have a girlfriend who is also interested in this kind of stuff. I think Ill probably be locking this thread though, as it seems most people would rather be an starfish than be any help.
