Author Topic: 5 years since Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan died — made this drum cover for him.  (Read 1507 times)

The drummer of Avenged Sevenfold died five years ago today. He was a tremendous inspiration for my playing, and I made the last minute decision to shoot this cover today. I hope I did the track justice, and that Jimmy might forgive some liberties I took in playing this song.

Sidewinder, from City of Evil.

Cheers, guys. Thanks for always taking a look at my videos when I share them, means the world. This one especially.

That's so sweet of you.

I can't make a tribute to a deceased loved one cause the emotion is too strong, but this is fantastic.

a7x is my favorite band and it actually made me really happy to see this

You don't even need to be a fan of any specific genre. You don't even have to like music. You've never seen a person wear an A7X shirt once?

Glad to hear it, man <3 a7x is also my favorite band, making this video meant a lot to me.

Hope you enjoy them! They're really important to me, and I've always enjoyed their older material more...their latest release isn't my favorite, but I'd be interested to know which of their sounds you enjoy most! Their first two albums were relatively hard metal, city of evil was a little more progressive and closer to hard rock—and the self-titled release was along those same lines as well. The last two albums have been moderately hard rock with minimal screaming so they've been all over the place. Seriously, let me know what you think!

Can you elaborate? What do you mean?
