There's the perception of time, and then there's physical time itself.
Physical Time is another axis/dimension, similar to width, length, depth or 1D, 2D, 3D etc. It defines the state of an object at a specific point in its lifespan.
We perceive time to be linear, but how can we really know? Some people experience time slowing down, which indicates that we can alter our perception of time, but not necessarily the flow of time itself. Maybe one day, but at this point Physical Time is out of our control.
