Author Topic: is this bad to have in cmd? URGENT kinda  (Read 622 times)

as you guys probably know im not experienced with any kind of network related things, but i was in cmd looking through netstat and was tracking some random ip i found in the "foreign" category. i dont know what anything even means there, just wanted to track them. one of them went to costa rica and it said it was blacklisted

Should i be worried?

EDIT: looked it up on virustotal, idk what it means but it isnt good https://www.virustotal.com/en/ip-address/190.93.240.15/information/

apparently its the IP for a search engine, dont know which one, but it says search engine

you literally typed in netstat
you probably have a browser open

k or whatever, it just worries me that in "active connections" theres an ip that when i put in virustotal shows a bunch of malicious files

this is not something i want to be actively connected to

I don't know much about cloudflare but maybe its because it reroutes it?

I'm guessing because of the ":http" that protocol is http. I'd expect it to be something else if it was something to worry about.

I just realized why what I just said is stupid. Nvm.

starting to think it isnt bad but still want to know what it is or at least if its negatively affecting me

For future reference, "netstat -b" shows which applications have created and are using said connections.
Either way, this is likely your internet browser connecting to the forums, which is behind CloudFlare.  Nothing to worry about.
