RAT's have a lot of functionality to them, I've never used one or have had to deal with one but you can do a lot of stuff with darkcomet.
There's drivebys, which is basically for example this scenario:
Bob gets sent a link by his friend.
Bob is directed to a page with nothing on it.
Bob closes out the page.
Kyle, Bob's friend, RAT'd him.it would pretty much download the rat through some script, its highly unlikely and takes skill and a really stupid person to click it, because some people would just put IP addresses for it and not a real title.
and you could get stuff from that but its highly unlikely, and theres even jRATS
which are basically java based, so you could think that you're downloading a minecraft addon or something when really you're just downloading a big old fat jrat.
doesn't malwarebytes pick it up? i'm pretty sure it does
besides, his profile say's he's 15, it was a pretty sleezy but easy to crack program... this guy either was a 15 year old kid who wanted to play an ARG with the blf or he's pretty good at making decoys and hiding under a facade
nonetheless, i'll install malwarebytes and run a scan despite my other program finding nothing earlier :u
you should really disconnect your computer from the network and post from your phone, any passwords that you could have possibly typed would be keylogged if he had installed one
idk something tells me youre just googling darkomets or whatever and reiterating first results.
i've known about dark comet for a long time, saw a whole video/documentary a long time ago, and picked up some knowledge from friends and such
Dont forget he might actually put up pop ups and turn on your webcam if you have one!
that can actually happen, he can view your webcam. i don't have one so yay me.
if he does manage to get to you and view your webcam just put tape over it or disconnect it.
he can open webpages, execute files, all kinds of stuff.
