Author Topic: Thinking of becoming a Twitch streamer  (Read 3005 times)

We can shove that point aside for three months, as I bought an Xsplit license before I made this thread. :S
Wowwww. Well, I did hear that XSplit is a bit faster and more efficient when encoding video, so it might not be a bad thing.

Also mind telling me your upload speed?

I pay for 50 Mpbs up and down.

To anyone that was interested in watching, here is my Twitch www.twitch.tv/forgetlavender.
I try to stream as often as possible, so sometimes you'll see me without microphone or webcam. That's probably because I tried filling a small time gap with streaming. :)

Go for it man if you feel like you can do it sure. But I am a bit eh on facecams but those are a personal pet peevee of mine.

Oh and y know don't expect to reach millions of viewers in a day, as Vinny from Vinesauce said alot of people are streaming now and you'll just have to hope you get lucky.

I have no idea who those people are. I'm unfamiliar with streamers and audiences. So I hope to learn down the road.

Streaming on twitch is actually a lot of fun if you play what you like. Back when i was able to stream i got quite a bit of viewers by just playing forza and gmod, and its even more enjoyable if you have an active chat.

ik a guy who likes both of them
he constantly screams "YEET" "21" "DID YOU SEE THAT VINE" "SOMETHING RELATED TO SOME stuffTY VINE"
i hate him and i cant get rid of him

Get rid of the banner thing at the bottom. The title is in the video, the viewer count is on the page, nobody really needs to know what time it is. Make your picture smaller and maybe move it somewhere, maybe to the right of the health and armor? Try to avoid overlays such as what espio posted. they take up a lot of screen space and usually look ugly and are not worth it. Also, if you were thinking of it, never put chat on stream, its completely pointless. You have consistent colours which is nice, keep that.

The key to a layout is to not obstruct the view of the game. Try to make everything small and not cover vital info (such as health, ammo, etc)

As for giveaways, do them infrequently and with semi-decent items. Otherwise you just have a bunch of giveaway snipers that just take your items and leave. Although its normal for people to snipe, you want to minimise it. Snipers will come, but actual viewers will follow. You do not need to do giveaways to have a good stream.

If you're looking to stream for fun, go go go. If you're doing it purely for the monetisation then don't even bother. Don't even think of a donation button.

I haven't streamed in a while, but hopefully this stuff is useful. It takes time to get somewhere with streaming, especially with a popular game like cs:go. If you need anything else feel free to hit me up.

Okay thats more then enoug ._.
I have 10mb/s and its already enough plus I host a small unturned server and it works fine for me.

Neat
But as I said before I don't think you should start with csgo but with a game that has less viewers. Something arround 50 in total seems decent for a beginning streamer. Then work your way up to the top.

How about this? http://puu.sh/e78c1/3b2a54f436.jpg
I need the time as I schedule the end of the streams in my local time. And the viewers because I dont want to have Chrome open while I stream

I'll probably manage my stream HUD to fit with the HUD of the game I play.
Thanks for the heads up on that.

Yeah that layout works wonders

Do you think there is anything missing in my stream HUD?
I think I have everything covered, but might as well check.
