Author Topic: Thinking of becoming a Twitch streamer  (Read 2998 times)

The idea popped up in my head recently. I play a lot of CSGO surf, and sometimes competitive, so I wouldn't know why I shouldn't give it a shot.
This topic is not me asking for viewers. I'd love to hear some stuff from people. Like suggestions for what to do with my Xsplit. Or any experiences other streamers have had?

Here is my current Xsplit setup

The only thing I got going on right now is a robot saying what song is playing + webcam.
I'll probably add more soon as the first *actual* series I'd be doing is Road to Legendary Eagle

I broadcast in 720p, 30 fps.

Great! I'll create a Twitch account just to watch these :)

That's really kind of you! Just don't expect too much this- and the upcoming week, as I'm being bombarded by exams.

i would use obs to stream imo

if you have xsplit there's no point in using obs

Don't try to be entertaining; let it happen naturally

True, true! Sometimes you try to be entertaining, and you end up not being yourself, which ends up in you having to always put up this facade to your watchers. That can be super tiring.

I stream unturned now and then and I reccomend it for new streamers since allot of people stream csgo and nobody is going to find your channel.
I get about 10 new followers a day without even using my mic and webcam. I just host a small server where people can play.
I also reccomend using OBS and snaz for countdown, date, time etc...
Also use Nightdev for instream chat and a "follower alert". People love that.
Use Nightbot for costum chat commands and music 'n stuff.
Let me show you my setup.

Also do giveaways, people will follow easyer. Just go to kinguin and pick some game thats like 1 dollar.
I got blood dragon for 2,50 euro.
Also if you need help setting up OBS (because thats a real pain in the ass) just PM me.

Thank you so much for posting this!
I definitely do regret buying an Xsplit license now, unless I can do all of these with Xsplit.
I'll read into this later tonight!

Xsplit also uses (i think) more CPU then OBS.
But if you want to stick with Xsplit you can do that. I tought you had the trial with limitations.
I used xpslit first too but I quickly changed to OBS.

EDIT: Set bitrate to 2000Kb/s
Its the balance between quality and being able (for slow computers) to view it.

I like you as a forumer. I'll watch.

/edit

not to sound elitist. I genuinely like you as a newbie; me being the newbie.

if you have xsplit there's no point in using obs
obs lets you stream in full 1080p hd for free
xsplit does not

so yes, there is a point

We can shove that point aside for three months, as I bought an Xsplit license before I made this thread. :S
