Author Topic: Steam refuses to connect online. Any idea? (Read 1857 times)

Every time I try to connect I get the "steam is having trouble connecting to the steam servers" message.

steam has been acting super dumb and not letting me go online through the client. this started happening recently (jan 2nd)

First of all when i logged into the web on steam, it was in German for some reason.

a system restore did not help at all. I have uninstalled steam and rebooted my pc then installed again. None of it has solved my problem. any ideas?

i have done virus scans and i am clean.

it is allowed through my firewall. just turned it off too. restarting and giving it a try

delete everything in the stem folder except for steamapps and Steam.exe, then run steam.exe

we tried this too the other night.

Tuesday maintenance as usual

"If it is a Tuesday at around 16:00 Pacific time then it is probably scheduled maintenance, otherwise I don't know."
Why do they do this?

it's ok i'll explain like you're 5.

basically the steam servers get updated for security reasons and other general bug fixes are done in that span of time.

Well right now the site is saying up, i've checked this site before 2days ago when i tried this. Still giving me that "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers" when i try to get on.

Must be something blocking you from it.
