what the hell do you expect? its the same exact thing for alost every product. valve might as well get this same treatment for their tf2 stuff. it just a bunch of pixels but people keep spending their cash on it. besides, its the parents choice to buy it or not, not the kids.

You say that like Spyro has had a good game since year of the dragon.
At least he was still a dragon before Skylanders. Now he's some creepy gremlin creature that I don't even know what to call.

Difference between amiibos and skylanders is a good game and 20 dollars.
Also you don't need to buy amiibos to play the game their for.

"Come on kids! Buy the game then buy our miniatures one at a time on top of the price of the game!"
Kinda like cash shops in bad jmmos, except you can atleast opt out of that.

I don't see the sense of it, but then again I aldo didn't see the sense of collecting trading cards either.

forget skylanders they raped Spyro.
Spyro was my loving childhood
I played the 3rd, 4th and 5th games and then it became crap after that.

Well I love capitalism.

It was crap after the 4th game
4th and 5th one were alright IMO
not as good as the original three, but still fun.
but after there it just kinda crumbled.

boo hoo children are buying toys that they like to play with, what is your problem.

OP is whiny as forget but I do miss the first three Spyro games. :(

at the end of the day, it wouldn't be successful if people didn't like the game. it's an interesting connection between the game world and the real world as well. but it's still pretty abusive business practice to withhold content from players arbitrarily, when it's already in the game, already developed, and necessary for complete play, and force them to pay a toll in order to access it. i don't know enough about the games to form a more detailed opinion on this; i was under the impression that the figures in infinity and skylanders just gave you optional additional characters, but if figures are actually required to beat the game, that's pretty goofy. amiibos are the right way to do this. they are completely optional and are designed to do absolutely nothing but enhance your experience in multiple games.

the OP made me cringe
