Author Topic: My dog's getting a bit annoying.  (Read 1511 times)

I have a fairly old Yorkshire Terrier that just won't stop bothering me and I have no clue why.

Most of the times when I'm at the computer, she stands up and scratches the chair and whines to get my attention, and it usually means that she needs to go outside, or that she's hungry/thirsty, but then there are the times when I take her outside, she does nothing. I give her food and water, she doesn't touch them. I put her on my lap while I'm at the computer, and she scratches my arm and tries to jump off. I try getting her to play with her favorite toys, she just stands and stares at me. And if I end up doing all of those, give up and go back to my computer, guess what? She's there, whining to get my attention.

It gets real frustrating when she refuses to leave me alone, and I feel bad when I have to yell at her to go to her bed (Which is close to my chair, within leg's reach.) and she looks sad, walks there, AND THEN COMES BACK TO THE SIDE OF MY CHAIR 5 MINUTES LATER.

She's like 8 years old, and I really don't have any idea what I should do. It's like every other day this happens and it's getting annoying as hell.

wat do?

Never change, blockland.

My dog does this too, she's about the same age.

Someone make that a sig.
Also, a dog I used to own (my grandma does now, so I still see her very often) is about 10 and does much of the same thing, they tend not to listen as they get older, I don't know why myself.

Kill the dog Rige
wtf no

Would you kill your little sister if she kept annoying you? The dog's family.

close the door
Also my computer is in the second floor room, where my computer, my mom's computer, my brother's computer, a couch and a TV with nothing but a Wii with Netflix. The door's always open because people are constantly coming in and out and plus it gets hot up there and the best air conditioning is downstairs so the door is kept open to kind of circulate the air. Plus, I get yelled at when I close the door, so yeah. Not an option.

I do give her attention. And for once, she's calmly sitting on my lap as I type this.

I would love to have a cat. The last one I had we gave away because he kept breaking things and escaping outside. He was only around 1.5 years old when we gave him to my cousin, and my cousin lives in new jersey, then the cat got out once and never came back.

Cats generally need to be neutered. To stop the breaking & escaping.
