Author Topic: I have my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow.  (Read 1325 times)

It'll be my first time ever having surgery, so I'm pretty nervous. They are also going to cut the muscle under my tongue while I'm knocked out.

Can anyone tell me what it's like?

you tell me once it's over, i have to get all 4 of mine pulled at once and one has already surfaced

in pain and loveually confused

My brother and sister had theirs done at the same time. My brother ended up convincing my sister that the dentist had also taken her tongue. It was a fun day.

My Wisdom Teeth are taking absolutely forever to come in.
I've had the two on my upperow slowly creeping in for the last 2, if not 3 years.
I think they're approximately half way through, but may be all the way through. I'm not entirely sure. I've not actually had a proper look at them.

The pair on my bottom row, I've not had any feeling of them at all. Which kind of has me a little worried, should they come in, since I can't see much room there for them.
Whereas the top row have come in without any pain at all, and have plenty of space.

With luck however I shan't have need for them to come out.
Are you having yours out as a precautionary means, or are they actually causing you pain, or coming in at a funny angle?

There are coming in completely sideways.

Same

I've been put under for surgeries twice. The second time was aight. The first time was THE SCARIEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

They sat me on the table and gave me the mask and told me to breathe deeply. For some reason my body got paralyzed by the anesthetic a few moments before I fell asleep so I couldn't feel myself breathing for a couple moments, like all of the air was sucked out of me, and I was scared out of my mind. In the recovery room I was punching at the nurses 1) because I must have remembered feeling like I was going to die and 2) I was jumped up on morphine.

For my second surgery they put the anesthetic in my IV instead of in a mask (I think? They weren't very clear) so I fell asleep a lot more easily.

valium and morphine and stuff.

have someone videotape you it'll be awesome

my wisdom teeth came is fine for me, no dental problems. i hope your surgery goes well.

You lie down, they put you out, you wake up after just a completely dream-less "sleep", get shuffled around the office to make sure you're alright, then you go home and sleep. For hours. Upon hours.

Then there's the blood. And the gauze. And the pain.

Have fun. :)

Then there's the blood. And the gauze. And the pain.

From personal experience with helping take care of somebody who had their wisdom teeth removed, your mouth will bleed every now and then

It's normal and you shouldn't be upset about it.

I have just enough room in my mouth for them to come in, but I did have surgery when I was little that corrected my jawline. They put you to sleep, and in like 1 second (your time) you wake up with stuff in your mouth, get in your car, drive home dead, go to bed, wake up choking on your own blood while puss and blood filled gauze is removed and inserted with another pain inducing steel barb gauze. You get up a day later and you think you feel fine, when all of a sudden you lean up and spew blood out of your holes and the gauze explodes with puss (again), so you call for help and you puke because of the pain. You wonder into your kitchen to find yourself starving and drained of energy as you try to sip on some water, the water tastes awful and you spit it out only to find chunks of white furry hairs in your blood along with other yellow oozing puss. You walk into the bathroom and have the worst diarrhea known to man because your body was in so much stress, and since you've swallowed some blood in your sleep your mossy and bloody fecal matter is also red, and yellow, and green.

You wonder into your bedroom and try to lay down but you hit the pillow too hard and your mouth bursts with blood as you manage to not puke again from the taste of puss and gooey brown substances that keep forming around your empty root cbrown towns. Your parents are back from the store with your new fancy blender as they blend all your food for you for 6 days. No chips. No soft drinks. Only water and mush..

Have fun :D

post a picture of yourself doped up on drugs

You'll be fine.  I just had local anesthetics, so I was awake for it.  Had all four removed, and it's not so bad.  Heard him crack them and saw them out with the scalpel. The worst part is not being able to eat solid foods for a few days and the annoying gauze immediately after the surgery that stops bleeding from your gums.
