This is a megapost of written and unwritten guidelines of the Blockland Forums.


What NOT to do in the Blockland Forums

Do NOT make topics with ambiguous names.

Examples:

• help!
• idea i just had
• question...
• About this one thing..

Do NOT post any adult content or things that may be offensive or disgusting. This is a forum for a game that attracts children. If you hesitate, then you probably should not post it.


NO talking about warez. That means that no discussing methods or software that can be used to obtain things for sale for free.


Do NOT make unintelligible posts. If you don’t know what that means, you should just watch the forums for a year or so before you make any posts.



Do NOT make a post requesting help or a link before you have made sure you have used every method of finding help yourself.


Do NOT insult or flame people. If the point of your post is to cause grief to others, then do not post. Once again, if you hesitate, it’s better if you don’t post it. This also extends to the drama board to an extent. Drama board is to tell OTHERS about someone’s wrong-doings and who you should trust and who not to.


Do NOT make posts aimed to receive sympathy from others. Posts like doomsday posts (Forum/Game isn’t fun anymore, I’m going to leave).


Do NOT link to or advertise other forums. If it’s a forum for your clan or it’s directly related to Blockland and nothing but Blockland, then you should not encounter problems.


Do NOT make the same post in multiple boards just to get an answer quicker unless it’s in the complete wrong board. In that case apologize, lock the post, make a new one and don’t make the same mistake again.


Absolutely NO referral schemes or chain-posts. Example: post this to x, x amount of times and x.

• No one is going to give you money or an iPod/flatscreeen monitor/xbox 360/whatever just for getting people to click on some crappy link.

• No chain-letter style spam - Copy and paste this message into 5 threads and you will be permanently banned.

Absolutely NO negative posts in gallery. You ARE allowed to give constructive criticism if asked. ONLY rate posts in gallery by x/x if it’s specifically asked in the topic.


Do NOT use the RTB name when recreating a mod with similar functioning.

Absolutely NO unfinished, buggy, experimental or mods meant for add-on development in the add-ons section.


Absolutely NO help requests, no suggestions or requests as own topics in the add-ons board.


Do NOT post full songs in the music board. Only songs that are shortened by looping them.


All Faces, Decals and Prints go in their own board. This is a common mistake sometimes made. Don’t do this please.


Maybe not a rule, but please don’t make unintelligible clans. Just.. please.


The place for buggy, experimental mods and in-development mods is Modification Discussion board.


The place for coding help and other general modification help such as modeling and not coding goes in their corresponding boards.


No spam of any kind anywhere.


Do NOT make a trap link (Rick-Roll, Duck-Roll, screamers, browser crashes etc.).


Drama board:

• Do not post on a topic disregarding it or saying how you don’t care.

Advice and unspoken guidelines for interaction with others.


The use of proper grammar is advised.


When you first come to the forums, make sure to look around for some time until you get adjusted.


When you are finished with a topic, don't edit everything out.


Do not edit a topic in places like Coding Help to fit another problem. This causes confusion. Also never lock a topic in Coding Help because someone else may come along with a better solution.


Suggest any edits and point out things I missed please.

I will be adding onto this with rules that aren't mentioned in any stickied topics and the unspoken guidelines. Suggesting them would be the best way.

Also, this compiles rules from several stickies. The whole idea of this came because some people make posts completely oblivious to these rules existing.

Do not post for banned users

It's not listed anywhere as a rule but a couple people have been banned for it.

Most songs are in stereo and people figure if they have to go mono then they might as well shorten it.

Or atleast that is my inquisition.
