Author Topic: am I the only one who thinks buying a chromebook is a bad idea  (Read 2560 times)

I don't mean to bash chromebook users, but just chromeos/crosh seems so, well, useless

not in a way that you can't do anything, but I feel like google made some cheap, easy to use laptops, and made them practically useless for anything you want to do on them

I mean, they're easy to use, but what about those semi-developers who don't want the complexity of linux and the restricted easy - to - use nature of chromeos

and again, not to annoy anyone, but it just seems so useless to me

can anyone explain a good use for them?

its good if you want something cheap and easy to do work on

yeah, but what kind of work? it's hard to so any kind of work on a chroomebook

You answered your own stupid question.

It's super easy to write things on, what are you talking about. Google docs covers pretty much everything the average user wants. It's not marketed as being useful for programming or anything like that. It's marketed as a laptop to browse the internet and use for school stuff.

ah, thanks

because a lot of people I see who I would think write code use them, I guess not

the actual computers are stuff. im not talking specs, im talking about the computers. and most new laptops too. seriously? this new sleek look isnt making your company look better.

what the forget? THE MOUSEPAD IS ONE PIECE? literally what the forget, so i have to guess where the actual button is under the piece to press it? and those mousepads are so awful, anyway. any mousepad that is either 1 entire piece is utter stuff. i dont loving care if "1 BUTTON IS SIMPLE YET SO INNOVATIVE, THIS IS THE GREATEST INVENTION EVER" because thats loving a crap statement. THOSE GOD DAMN MOUSEPADS SUCK ASS. PERIOD.

They're not super high quality but they work alright and you can get them for under $300 and the cheapest I've seen is $200. At that price they're the best you're gonna do.

its not 1 button, stop talking stuff before doing research
my laptop's mousepad is the same, the two mouse buttons are there, you just have to click the corners

Chromebooks are great for school deployments and for people who do almost nothing but website stuff.

I would never get one with the expectation of computer-enthusiast level utilization.

My school has Chromebooks.

I loving despise whenever we have to use them.
