Author Topic: Why does everyone use IBan's ancient cityRPG still?  (Read 3329 times)

Apparently it was made earlier than v18, So no wonder it has a lot of bugs...

Why not try to make a new one? Like me  :cookieMonster:

Because everyone is too lazy to make a new one. And most of the hosts who host it find little script kiddies to add in some new broken features.

you do know that it is over 2000 lines of code
i don't think a lot of people would take the risk of doing something like that just for it to become unpopular and forgotten

Aoki did modify the script but I doubt anyone trusts him enough to use it.

That's not very large.

Over 2000! Holy forget balls batman, never would've guessed! Because 2000 lines is really that much :/ I just did like 400 the other day for Glass on a simple add-on that nobody wants implemented in his server. If I wanted to I could do a city RPG I could easily reach 2000 lines in two days or so, problem is I'm a lazy forget.

I believe someone is working on a new one, a less buggy one. With a lot of cool features.

There is a thread for it somewhere.

It had a backdoor.

Code: [Select]
>fixed Last Man Standing bug
>rewrote Pardon, giveMoney, eraseRecord, and Crims commands
>added SA commands AddToValue NAME VALUE AMOUNT(+/-) and SeeValue NAME VALUE
>rewrote onPlant, fixing loading issues
>updated the Banned Events section
>added the RTB prefs found in many other CityRPG mods
>fixed hunger: <color:> bug
>added me and a few other coders birthdays; will add more if anyone asks
>removed servercmdBan from the package.cs, as well as a few other abusive functions
>disabled idiots.cs with broken FAQ links
>rewrote transferLot to use lot boxes instead of downupbrick
>added the taser from Jack Noir's SuburbRPG
or you could go a year and a half earlier and reference the gamemode Pecon released with the accidental and nonfunctional 'backdoors.'

If you are not going to host something correct then don't host it at all.

there's like 30 people claiming they would do that and it NEVER got done

because it loving kicks ass

There's no alternative and nobody's willing to learn torquescript just to make a cityRPG
