Author Topic: Why does everyone use IBan's ancient cityRPG still?  (Read 3317 times)

To be honest, when { } and spaces use at least 40% of the code, so you can say its fairly short.

or you could go a year and a half earlier and reference the gamemode Pecon released with the accidental and nonfunctional 'backdoors.'
I'd like to point out that under any normal circumstances your backdoor should have worked and that your ban for distributing a backdoor was 100% justified. A while after making the drama we figured out that it did not work because Badspot had manually overwritten the servercmdtogadmin function in the game scripts because people distributing the mod with that function had been a prevalent issue in the past.

oh this was a long time ago.

incidentally badspot never banned me for /togadmin. I thought that was cute, he gave me the benefit of a doubt. The command was designed to test the gamemode without admin powers, since admins can cheat and bypass almost everything involving money limitations.

i'd guess because it's a perfect starting point and people are too lazy/dont know how to make a new one.

once you know what you're doing you could do some sweet stuff with it

By the way Iban, assuming you're real, will you ever get back into coding?

I do it for a living now. I don't think there's a chance I'll ever do blockland stuff, but if I could find the old cityrpg v3 I'd give it out.

The only person I know who I gave it out to was Ephialte's friend. Lub I think.

Is there chance that it was lost or do you properly archive your stuff?

I didn't use cloud hosting. 4 years ago, it wasn't as prominent as it is now. Considering I'm on another continent and my old laptop is gone, it probably is inaccessible to me.

Perhaps. I remember giving it away randomly to some other kid. The new version of the mod had the Client_CityRPG.zip component, yes?

is it me or is it when you mention aoki he responds

or I just don't have a 5 year old codebase for a children's videogame laying around after I've moved continents lol

Because everyone is too lazy to make a new one. And most of the hosts who host it find little script kiddies to add in some new broken features.
^this is the most accurate description

yea no you're fake
