Author Topic: [WIP][Mod Apps are in!] City's RPG  (Read 15832 times)

I would rather just ignore you, it is possible to make an actual good CityRPG without making a brand new one. We are doing something different. We are not going to just make an edit and keep it like that. We will update ours from the ideas we get from other players. Keeping the game fun to play and an overall good server.
A CRP can have the most beautiful build anyone has ever seen and still be a pile of garbage because of that gamemode. Iban said it himself that the CityRPG mod is incomplete, bad and should not be edited/hosted.

What are you trying to say here?

Actually I disagree on this completely, and it's totally untrue.

Creating a clean, pretty, and easy to understand city with balanced mod edits makes the game totally playable and fun.

The code may be old/garbage, but the gameplay is the key part.

Yes the gameplay is the key part until you get hit by 10 bugs each day thanks to that garbage code you're ignoring.

While the build is awesome, it seems to not be brick-efficient. I have huge doubts about the performance bottleneck your decoration is going to cause.

List ten bugs that I'm going to get hit by every day that will totally ruin my gameplay and force me to quit the server. Go on, tell me, I'd love to hear.

I'll start:

No.1: The last-player alive glitch.

Eww who would want your backdoor infested release...

Of there were back doors he would have been revoked by now. Stop talking out of your ass.

Make jail escapable, but you get dems. also check aokis code for any backdoors.

Code: [Select]
>fixed Last Man Standing bug
>rewrote Pardon, giveMoney, eraseRecord, and Crims commands
>added SA commands AddToValue NAME VALUE AMOUNT(+/-) and SeeValue NAME VALUE
>rewrote onPlant, fixing loading issues
>updated the Banned Events section
>added the RTB prefs found in many other CityRPG mods
>fixed hunger: <color:> bug
>added me and a few other coders birthdays; will add more if anyone asks
>removed servercmdBan from the package.cs, as well as a few other abusive functions
>disabled idiots.cs with broken FAQ links
>rewrote transferLot to use lot boxes instead of downupbrick
>added the taser from Jack Noir's SuburbRPG
or you could go a year and a half earlier and reference the gamemode Pecon released with the accidental and nonfunctional 'backdoors.'

People just use Ibans and just add a little more features, then its a whole new mod somehow. Every CityRPG server is the same stuff.

I might seperate the city into sections. Low class, medium class, and high class. There might be a mega mall for all the shops. Hopefully we are able to manage it. Low class is for bad builders, medium class is for decent builders, and high class is for expert high quality builders.
Sounds good to me.  Have each island look nicer as the class increases.
Also I will delete some trees to ease on brickcount.

While it's realistic, I don't really like the idea. I don't want my build loving judged on a cityrpg. This isn't a best build contest. I prefer options.

no. I don't want to be stuck on a stuffty island or something just because my build looks "bad". Keep them all the same quality, and I'll support your "class" idea; but if you seriously do THIS, you've lost my join.
