I had a dream where an extremely dangerous plant known as "Saturn's Ring" started growing all over Earth. Getting too close to Saturn's Ring would result in the plant exploding and showering you in extremely poisonous barbs leading to a slow, painful death.
Then some extreme cataclysmic event happens in new york which was so explicitly abhorrent and eldritch that no human being could even comprehend what was happening, called "The Event". It involved a lot of death and rape or something. World goes into lockdown, people are boarded up in cities layered into tiers of poverty based on your importance. I remember breaking out of one of the cities and coming across empty highways riddled with empty cars, gore, corpses, giant spiders, cultists, poisonous gas, it was loving terrifying.
