Odd how win8 still feels 'new' when I talk about it.

I still remember the old "I made windows seven" commercials.

I don't know how to update a computer's operating system.

i remember my primary school girlfriend bragging about how her computers all had windows 7

why did i dump her
she was like the perfect nerd

omg

Once Windows 10 comes out, I'm going to laugh at all you Win7 users who are clinging to a dead operating system. It's pretty much already become the joke about preferring XP to anything newer, stop sulking in your comfort of the familiar and try something new.

We clung on to Win 7 because Win 8 is garbage. Win 10 looks promising, and if it is good, I would upgrade.

Oh please, the only reason people hate it is because the new UI. From experience I have had much better performance on Win8.1 then I did on Win7.

Its time for everyone to get with the times and upgrade to Windows 8.
Na, XP recently lost all security support, Vista still has a few more years left of extended support, so I wouldn't worry about windows 7 going anywhere any time soon windows 8 hipster.

You forget about Vista already?

Win 8 is garbage.
I mean, I get how you could think that by just looking at it, but...

why the forget is the charms bar a thing
why the forget does dragging the top of my screen make my desktop shrink into a tablet-esque workspace thing
why the forget does hovering over the bottom left corner of my screen have a start button that goes over the taskbar when there's already a loving start button on the taskbar

I literally have never had this ever, because I bought Stardock's Start8 and Decor8 the instant I bought Windows 8.

Isn't there some desktop modification thing that changes the desktop functions so that it's more like windows 7?

because touchscreens.

so if I want a decent, non-headache-inducing user experience with windows 8, I have to go out of my way to modify it when windows 7 was perfectly fine out of the box..?

remind me again how this is an upgrade?

We don't speak of vista.

Besides the lack of the start menu the desktop is literally identical. I don't even use the Start tile thing, haven't seen it in months.

why the forget is the charms bar a thing
It's mostly used for changing settings of apps. Not really that useful on the desktop.

...What? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Once again, what?

Oh good, buying something to fix a UI flub that shouldn't have existed on desktops to begin with.
