Author Topic: Humans Need Not Apply  (Read 1963 times)

i saw this video a while ago, but recently stumbled upon it again.

what do you all think?

Believe it or not, companies recognize that jobs are an important part of the economy and strive to keep jobs unless they're required to cut them, say if they're starting to lose money for whatever reason. What he's saying that companies will eventually completely eliminate the human element is completely speculation on his part.

that's true. there will certainly always be human workers, but i find it quite believable that quite a few jobs will be replaced, mainly the more "generic" ones.

I like Baxter

At 2:07 there's a robot playing on a robot!

Maybe one day people will be prejudice of robots, and would say, "DEY TOOK OUR JERBS ERRRR!!!"

Sometimes I wish that engineers would make robots that are better at being business executives than humans are so that the human executives would be stuffting themselves in their own undoing.

I wish robots ran this country.

Oh wait...

Either way, I found the video pretty interesting, and oddly I'm kinda worried if I'll get a job when I grow up lol.

the future is robot. whom even want to work anyway?

in the future, there will be robots!

in the future, there will be robots!
every night at the vice city arts center.

Its either gonna end up like WALL-E or society will become a dystopia with very little employment and human workers being considered expendable

Don't worry, there will always be jobs for us, after all we are the ones who can fix/program/create them

I think it is more likely we will fuse with robots.

Its either gonna end up like WALL-E or society will become a dystopia with very little employment and human workers being considered expendable
idk i'd kinda prefer 1984 to happen at some point

i dont like thinking about AI made to replace human creativity. it boggles my noggin when i see people working on developing music generating programs, like what's the point?

what's the point?
Cuz doing something hard is fun

Also the guy totally cherry picked his data, at least the first graph is only data relating to the United States which imports a ton of crap anyway. Vietnam has 48% of it's population in agriculture.
