Author Topic: The Tutorial needs a serious revamp  (Read 2283 times)

Put the car driving test back in the tutorial. It was the only challenging part :3

OP: I agree the tutorial should be more like the old one / better

When you launch Blockland for the first time it should open the setName menu, or just attempt to set your name to your steam name.
ps: the game opens literally 3-4 windows already when you first open it

there's a lot of loving windows. not a good first impression.

Isnt it the windows with your internet and mouse or something? Well maybe after that you can get the name change screen thing

or just shove it all into one big window

maybe admins could get a new command which sends players to a single player game with tutorial gamemode

/sendtotutorial
LOL. Abuse central. I'd rather get permanently banned than have my computer disconnect from a server, and forced to go into a map. It adds more "punishment" to a kick. Redicioulos.

it needs more picture demonstrations

I don't remember and I'm not home to check: did the main menu redesign remove the tutorial button from the main menu?

Yes.
You have to start a game and have the tutorial be the gamemode.
So unless you want to have a multiplayer tutorial, it should be a button instead.

Redicioulos.

i agree in that the tutorial lacks in certain fields that a player should engage in

like the jeep course and accuracy test in the original tutorial

if anyone comes up w/ a new tutorial it would be neat to include a secret entrance near the end that leads to a *extended tutorial*

where the topics cover trivia matters like super jumping, crouch damage system, and or advanced combat techniques

then why give them admin? these same people can kick people out of the server and ban people. seriously i dont understand the deal with this community and "abusable" things.

Something similarly abusable used to exist in Blockland, but was removed because of how abusable it was. There was a client command entitled 'doupdates' which does exactly what you'd think it does; it disconnects the client from the server and forces them to attempt to update the game.

I would be more than happy to help build new sections of the tutorial.

lol I remember that. I found it on a console command list and tried out out at my challenge server on some people that were there back in like 08/09. Glad it was removed.

If you need a tutorial to know how to start the tutorial, you're doing something wrong.

I like this idea
and advanced events

This needs to be done.
