Info

So recently I have been playing blockland again after a long hiatus, and with that I have started to build terrain again. Because I plan to make quite a bit terrain, I have decided to just dump all of the ones I make here. I might put download links with some of these, but be forwarned, we use quite a bit of brick sets so you might have trouble using them.

Terrain - Sideroad

Description:

I built this piece quite awhile ago, on another account and under a different name. It uses cubes and zone bricks to create a fairly decent form, and tops it off with elms trees. Due to the fairly low custom brick count, I have released a download for it.

Terrain - Island

Description:

I only recently made this build, and its still not quite done, but I still think it would only be fair to put it in here. It consists of a pretty flat island with some unique features splotched all around. The download will not be made availabe mainly due to it being planned as a map for a server. If I dont get around to finishing it though, I will put up a download for the (mostly complete) island.

Terrain - River

Description:

A river that I made super recently, it mainly serves as a study for how to make rock formations. I had earlier tried to do this in my island build, but I felt I was not properly doing it, so I made this. I do plan on expanding it more, but for now it servers as eye-candy.

Download: N/A (Will put it up when finished)

*I will accept x/10 ratings, and criticism so long as it remains constructive.
*Note i am not the best at making topics, so if I made a mistake please call it out.

Great job with this, definitely useful. This and Conan's guide makes it extremely helpful and easy to build terrain

Taking a break from the river, any suggestions on what I should do next?

Haha! That's really awesome terrain! 9/10 just how I always like it.

must say your build is quite nice. its rather clean, and may not be detailed/realistic in all aspects, but works well for BL.
gonna nitpick on that first one though; the rock faces are kinda clunky, as you fit the 8x8 grid more than allowing the terrain to flow around the large rock formation to the left of the first picture.

i suggest not using default cubes due to their annoying 10x plate height; I made a brickpack a while back called Brick_Cubes that align to the brick grid (heights are multiples of 3 plates). You can find it on any "latest" RTB addon archive i believe.

as a suggestion in moving forward: you can try going down to 4x4 level to add more detail.

other terrain ideas: waterfall, cliff face with cave, "hole in the ground" caves

Thanks! Yeah, I agree about the first one. I made it quite a long time ago, and thats one of the reasons I stopped working on it. Thanks for the suggestions too, ive been kind of dry on ideas lately.
Also, Fishscaping while bored:

This is some of the best terrain I've seen. It's like right in the middle as far as simplicity v. detail which, in my opinion, is the best kind of terrain in general. Sometimes simpler or more detailed terrain is better depending on the situation, but right smack-dab in the middle of the detail spectrum should be the go-to. That "as detailed as you can get while keeping it simple and maintaining a low brickcount" area.

yeah on what boink said, it actually looks like it will work out really well with that style

reminds me of bushido's older builds (and or new ones)

his style kind of fit into the same category

I've decided to make a water-hole, basically what Conan suggested, next.

Thanks a lot guys! When I was still somewhat new to blockland I tried to imitate Bushido build style quite a bit, so what AFK said would make sense.

Are you using the default side textures? Especially in the second one it looks really... Soft or something. Or is that just shaders.
