Author Topic: Anyone know how to fix a sticky keyboard?  (Read 1647 times)

I spilled some juice on it, and now most of the keys either won't go down, or get stuck when I press them. Before you ask how did I type this, the keyboard is for my server not my pc.

Any ideas?

Ok.

I'd suggest cleaning the bottom of the keys, remove the keys and look at a picture of your keyboard and just clean it

Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

Won't it break if I take the keys off? If not how do I even do that lol?

depends on your keyboard, if you don't know go with Harms way. Q-tips and alcohol

Unplug it and submerge it in water then let it sit upsidedown in the sun for a day. If it's a fancy digital keyboard then you'll have to wait longer.

a little draino or bleach should do the trick

With my stuffty mechanical keyboard you can just pop off all the keys and reveal the monstrosity that is the bottom of everyone's keyboard.

Membrane and Mechanical keyboards should be just fine, however keyboards like my K800 have very delicate parts under each key and is VERY time consuming and dangerous when cleaning under the keys.

I'll probably try this solution since once it dries it will work again, and it will probably dissolve the stickiness or something, thanks.
