"I'm going to shoot you," Days shouts, at one point addressing Reid by his first name. "You're going to be f---ing dead. If you reach for something, you're going to be f---ing dead."

Then one of the men in the car tells the officer, "I'm getting out and getting on the ground."

The officer again orders Reid not to move. Seconds later, Reid emerges from the car, raising his hands, which appear to be empty. Both officers fire immediately, shooting at least six rounds.

You could see it from both sides. If they honestly did see him possibly grabbing for something, and the fact that who the hell would (if intended to grab and shoot) say that they're going to do so? For all they knew, he was going to pistolwhip them or something. A literal second to react, they would've been dead themselves, or atleast one.

The other side is that I mean, I guess he did have his hands out.

yeah opening up the door, quickly jumping up and out of the car at a cop who knows you have a gun, yelled at you around 10 times to not move, and knows how many people hate cops in these times probably isn't the best thing to do ever

The video was taken from a police dash cam. The guys in the car up front are barely visable. The officer kept ordering the guy to stomp moving his hands. The police already discovered a gun in the glove compartment. Even after being told to not move the guy kept moving. Its dark and for all we know the guy could have been fumbling for a knife. That guy should have kept his hands up and stayed seated, instead he goes against the cops orders and quickly exits the vehicle like he is going to run.

Why do you think he was going to open the door? To give the cop a hug?

It is dark, they are held at gun point, Jerome is fumbling around, he is a convicted cop killer, he flung the door open and quickly got out.
