Author Topic: scenario: tumblr declares off topic is worse than 4chan and gets on the news  (Read 5634 times)

According one of the founders of 8chan they take pride in free speech. Basically almost everything and anything can have its own board.
I hope that doesn't include child research or anything illegal

...and? its not like tumblr is some power that be
if it was worse somehow then, i guess that'd be that. they might point OT out in place of 4chan but, eh. you're acting like they'd put down martial law upon OT or something.

The sudden influx of people who are obsessed with a blogging website must afflict people's common sense.

Like why would a beef between two websites (assuming tumblr is some kind of single being) make it on the news?

The point of a hypothetical situation is not to debate whether the circumstances could or couldn't happen. It's to discuss what the effect would be.

In this case, we're trying to judge how the two stereotypes (Tumblr as "SJW" v. Blockland as "Image Board" (so-to-speak)) counter-act each other.

even in that case my point still stands
like, so what if they 'declare' OT more problematic? what can they do?
they don't really have authority, more or less here. they may have the ability to rig a vote like most major sites; id say that would be a power over OT in that sense but the scenario implies we'd be a large community as well
so, it's kinda null, really

No change. That's like saying a celebrity declares blue is more blue than orange

Why don't you all just stop acting like blockland forums is the best thing ever, and fix the way you treat your fellow users? We don't need another 4chan once blockland gets popular enough.

And what exactly is 8chan's level? I'm honestly curious because I haven't heard much bad stuff about it.

It's got a /fur/ board, I think you'd like it.

How could a sfw / fairly strict board ever be worse that a chan
I cant even entertain the idea

This forum is already tumblr

This forum is already tumblr
More like a combination of Reddit, Tumblr and 4chan.

We have liberal hipster ladios and sirrus, we have Kimom and Maxwell as the meme guys, we have night fox and kimon as weeping sjws, we those guys that plague all communities and keep coming back like cartoon villians.

Maxwell as the meme guy
well I don't really want that label anymore

Alright so, Tumblr aside, BLF Off Topic starts making headlines on clickbaity "news" websites.

The "articles" demonize BLF Off Topic, claiming it is worse than 4chan.

Outsiders who investigate BLF Off Topic learn that it isn't the biggest hive of scum and villainy on the internet.

Curious, they proceed to investigate Blockland, under the assumption it is "some kind of Minecraft ripoff."

They learn it isn't a "Minecraft ripoff."

Blockland gains publicity.

The end.

You can't even make this into a hypothetical situation that isn't completely boring, because literally nothing will happen.

This is probably one of the only things that'd happen.
