Traveling to the Past
Pros:
  • Nostalgia
  • Chance to fix mistakes
  • History class pays off
Cons:
  • You might end up killing yourself, a parent, a grandparent or an ancestor
  • Any changes you make might create a separate timeline instead of rewriting your history
  • Which is good if you killed your grandfather but still
  • You might not have learned enough about the century you traveled to
Traveling to the Future
Pros:
  • That game you've been waiting for is finally out
  • The ____________ has finally been invented
  • Anything you brought with you is now a rare artifact
  • Questions like "Are we alone in the universe?" and "What is consciousness?" might've been answered
Cons:
  • The game you've been waiting for might suck or be an expensive antique
  • Cultural norms have changed
  • As it turns out the demographic you hate has taken over your country
  • As it turns out advanced A.I. isn't very friendly
  • As it turns out Humans have evolved and the world sees you as an animal
  • As it turns out E.T. isn't very friendly
  • As it turns out Earth is now uninhabitable
Staying in the present
Pros:
  • The world around you is familiar.
Cons:
  • Boring.

I'd travel to the past, invest in stuff, and forget as many women as possible because lowered inhibitions motherforgeter

I'd go to the 80's, My favorite decade.

Before you quote me, NO I will not go to Russia during the 80's. Still communist and in the middle of the cold war. I'd stay in the USA.

My past sucks a lot. The current sucks a stuff ton as well. If I travel to the future, I'd have to trust myself to do my homework and take care of myself without the surveillance of... well, me.

So I'd stay in the current and remain depressed as forget.
Oh well.

ALL OF THIS IS MY PERSPECTIVE/THEORY, NOT FACT NOR AM I STATING IT AS SO

Present.

Also, I don't like the time machine threads. If you used a time machine, the fact that you even traveled back makes way more than a tiny difference.

Second, you create a new timeline for every action anything makes. There are so many dimensions it hurts.

Third, if you go back and kill anyone, you've just spawned a new timeline. You'll still be alive, and your parent will be dead. You won't be alive as a true copy in the timeline you're in, yes, but you'll still exist as if you always had in the one you have reached. The only problem this causes is that you can't travel back to your original point in time. But it won't matter anyway, likewise.

So since I can't do anything past the point of travel, I decide stay in the present.

But since that time machine had already been invented, things already would've been changed.

ALERT ALERT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION

I think you are reading too far into this.

It is possible to travel to the future, All you gotta do is orbit really close around a black hole a few times.

Travel to the future where a regular non-limited use time machine has been invented, obtain one, and travel freely through time

I think you are reading too far into this.

Hey buddy, what if he enjoys writing? If I wasn't super tired I'd write something up as well.
Philosophy and writing can be fun, for sure.

The big text was because I didn't want to make it sound like I was passing it as fact.

And yeah, I am. I like time and what it could be.

I guess that's the appeal.  :cookieMonster:

But don't robots not have feelings or Emotions?
Don't act like you can't program that with some effort.

But don't robots not have feelings or Emotions?
