Congratulations!
How big is she? We need pounds and ounces here!

Also, by upside down, do you mean feet first, or that she face was facing the ceiling?
'Cause the former is more of a concern (not now obviously, but during the birth it's considered a complication to come out breech).

Congratulations on the new baby!

You took a serious risk there. You should have went to the doctor often to make sure the baby was going alright and to get advice.

I was well aware of the "risk" I just believe in a more natural sense of doing things. Seeing as how the baby was upside down (she came out feet first) I imagine the hospital would have wanted to cut her open and do a C-section or a number of things just to "make sure the baby was ok" when in all reality, the baby came out just fine the way she was. I guess it sorta goes with the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

Who knows, the hospital probably would have done more harm than good in this case.

Congratulations!

Feet first. She hit the ground runnin! :P  5 pounds and 10 ounces, 21 inches long :)
Yes that's what they called it, Breech. Im sure it was a bit more painful than usual O.o I feel so bad for the gf thinking about it, but she is recovering fast and doesn't have much pain aside from moderate cramping every now and then.

Congratulations on the new baby!
Thank you :D

So, as a result of your ridiculous paranoia, you were willing to risk losing the child, the mother, or both, just because you believe in a "more natural sense of doing things," whatever that means?

Well, let's see your "natural sense of doing things" prevent diseases that can kill the child and/or the mother.

Well, actually, with breech births the desire to perform a C-Section is often for the benefit of the mother, as the baby and pelvis aren't really designed to work together that way. The baby's legs can bend when it goes down and get caught, so it can cause more difficulties and pain and stress for mother and baby.
And you don't want an overly stressed baby during labour, because stressed babies can poo inside of mum, which isn't good.

Obviously there was no harm this time, and there's no desire to demand or force you to have your pregnancy/birth in a particular way, but it is really recommended that you go to a doctor prior to having a baby, if you suspect you're pregnant.
If you were there you could've had an ultrasound and then that would've told you that the baby was breech. Then they can perform a procedure (which is entirely non-intrusive) to attempt to shift the baby back into the normal position. And that's less worry on you, and makes the labour easier.
Furthermore, you get advice on pre-natal care, your midwife can go through with you about exercises to prepare for the birth, and generally just help out.

It's definitely not something you should balk at should you ever have another pregnancy.

That's not a bad size at all.
And not to understate the effort in a birth, but mum was lucky with her first time. She's on the smaller side (but perfectly healthy), being under 6 pounds.

Hey can y'all not.

This is a thread about the life of his baby, not everyone's political agenda on how the birth should be handled. Take it to PMs.

It's not at all political. It isn't like we're arguing about abortion.
And honestly, are you in a position to say anything about that, anyway? The life of this baby isn't any more important or meaningful than the life of Nal's father, but you had no problem with what you said then.

Lmao that is a funny one. I thought you apologized for being an starfish? Oh never mind, you proved you didn't have what it takes to change in the same thread. My bad, move along.

It's funny to hear this from the person who apparently has no sympathy for what he posts, insulted someone who's father may have died as we speak, among other things. Complain about the log in your own eye before complaining about the splinter in mine.

I know you and everyone else in that thread keep trying to bring that up and keep implying I'm some sociopath who feels nothing but I apologized for that twice and haven't said anything in the same manner since then. You on the other hand apologize for being an ass and then insult me out of the blue. See what I mean here?

Well, you've bluntly attacked me numerous times in the past (and didn't bother to apologize for any of them) so I'm pretty justified in what I said. On top of the drama thread that I linked to and all those posts that you blissfully ignored.

Now quit derailing the thread.

Oh so its a personal thing now lmao. Get over it, stop holding such petty grudges.

I'm going to stop posting in this thread so it isn't derailed any further. If you want to continue your little pity party about me not personally apologizing to every person who had their feelings hurt over an internet post I made then PM me.

made this one myself

Maybe later in her life you can show her daddy's artwork!

Congrats on the baby, though!
