Author Topic: Why are grapple knife/knife tdms still a thing  (Read 3476 times)

The worst part is the kids who play them 8 hours a day. They're in like three knifing clans nobody's heard of and think it's a legitimate skill/profession. That stuff makes me laugh.
I think its hilarious when kids pretend playing basketball in a lego game is a skill/profession. That stuff makes me giggle.

Implying it's the only thing I do/talk about on blockland. Yeah ok.

Implying you know that people just sit on grapple knife tdms for 8 hours a day kind of proves you do it too, I mean, how would you know they're there, if you aren't.  Just the way you treat the whole tournament thing is really over done and hilarious.

Look at it like this, you like spending a lot of time doing your basket ball tournaments, and others like playing knife TDMs. You stick to your stuff and don't bitch, and they won't bitch about yours.

I don't want to rain on everyone's parade.. but why are grapple knife/knife tdm's still a thing, I hate them
the same stuff has been hosted for atleast the past 4 years and we still use almost the same map set up
not to mention blockland melee sucks ass already with things like crouching
grapple knife tdm's add a little bit more... but they've also been hosted for so long... I don't even know how to use the grapple hook efficiently and I don't think 80% of people do, the game just gets drawn out by people hanging from their grapple hooks with no momentum or people just flying around, it very hard to actually be able to hit anyone grappling at ridiculous speeds

I apologize I know I'm a stuffty scatterbrain post writer but you people probably get an idea of what im saying
what do you think?

I guess people just enjoy that competitive play, I sometimes play k
Sanctus rems server, but then quit after 3 deaths.

what do you think?
The were stuffty 4 years ago, they were stuffty, 2 years ago, they are stuffty today.  They are the worst gamemodes on Blockland.

If that's your point then you might as well laugh at mr lol, nobot and waldo tol

I think grapple knife servers are still a thing because there is a viable audience for them to be endured. Enough people play them for enough people to host them. It's a direct correlation and as long as people enjoy playing them they will still be around. It doesn't affect you if you don't play them so I don't see why anyone has to complain about them.

Jesus Christ lighten up on the commas.

That's an opinion. I am guessing you really suck at Grapple Knife. Most people who hate Grapple Knife hate it because they don't know how to use the Grapple Rope. The rope is easy as hell to use. Its literally like swinging on a bungee cord. It's all about momentum.

Beautifully stated. The reason why Grapple Knife is still a thing is because people still play it, and enjoy it. Simple enough to understand isn't it?

For the people who hate knifing because they always die: It's called practice. I wasn't born knowing how to grapple and knife like a boss, it took months of training before I was even able to kill my first blockhead. Complaining about the "learning curve" of knifing is pretty ridiculous too; thats part of the training behind becoming a good grapple knifer.

...very hard to actually be able to hit anyone grappling at ridiculous speeds

this is why randomizer grapple is the futurreeeee
nothing like sniping some guy flying around like a motherforgeter

Exactly.

I personally enjoy knifing servers, especially grapple knife. I used to play them a lot more, but now I really only play when there are no other good servers up. They're kinda like a last resort, and there's almost always one being hosted.

The map hasn't changed because the map is just fine. Sure, the the designs some people put on them get old and crap, but whenever someone makes a different map for a grapple knife server,  it just doesn't work or flow as well, at least in my opinion. So until someone makes a map that is actually better than this one, I see no reason to change what maps are being used.

It took me a few days to get as good as all the experienced knifers years ago when I enjoyed those servers. Wtf are you talking about.

Lost Internet. Grappled on LAN with Deo for almost 2 years daily. No life back then. lol.

Jeeze, just a couple weeks ago a thread called, "where are all the knife tdms?". Now they are asking, "why haven't they died out?"

I actually have a funny story from skill4life's server last night.
There were a couple "knifers" there gloating about how good they were at knifing. They were above average at it but nothing special. Anyways, at one point they asked each other what their blockland deathmatch "dream team" was and they each included each other on a team of 4 people with Bushido and I was just at my computer chuckling. They were 100% serious too.
