I don't have anything specific in mind, but...

I've always visualized gamemodes in Blockland where players had to work together to achieve a goal, rather than be pitted against eachother. Make something that requires collaboration.

Edit: Oooh, and a gamemode that somehow involved building would be interesting as well.
