Author Topic: Put your pixel art skills to the test in ISOMETRIA! - Isometric tower  (Read 16929 times)

Welcome to Isometria! The newest, tallest tower around.

Except... It isn't built yet.
And we need YOUR help to construct new rooms for Isometria!

Post your finished room in the topic (do not resize), and at the end I will stick all of them together and post the finished Isometria tower!

At the end I will list all of the people who contributed to Isometria at the bottom of the post, near the tower.

Here is the room template:

You can do anything you like to it; make it your own personalized room!

Rules:
There is no limit to the amount of segments one person can submit.
All tower segments will be accepted, provided they are at least average quality & generally tower themed.

Current progress:

Keep it up guys! Only 12 more segments left!

Leaderboards: how many segments you have submitted will determine your place on the leaderboards!

How do I put stuff inside it when there's a wall in the way?

we're making a tower, so we're viewing it from the outside as well

Like so

(but don't re-size it)

so is the door just hanging off the side of the building or what?
that template doesn't really make any sense lol

Are designs like this allowed?

i'm gonna try making a template that makes more spacial sense
feel free to use it when it's done if you want, darksaber

here you go: a 2 apartment per floor + central stairwell template

wireframe

non-wireframe example to avoid spatial confusion

if you decide to use this template i recommend making two versions of each edit - one with walls and staircase transparent so we can properly see the inside, and one with walls and staircase solid so they can be properly stacked

you know that floors are going to be stacked on top of each other in the final version and the entirety of the interior cannot be seen
which is why the template is just walls

unless the op does an exploded view sorta thing

It would work if people would do it with a one of the axis forced on X, it would still be isometric, but making furniture would be a pain so maybe for the best - not.

As a suggestion, I think you should shut down the apartment thing and just give everyone a block and let them do whatever they want with it.

Great! Yes, designs like this are allowed.

That was / is the original idea. Idk why I called it "apartments". Tower is a better title.

It's not supposed to make spacial sense anyways really, lol.

The tower will only be seen from the outside, and not the inside. The tower segments will be stacked ontop of each other, so you wouldn't see the inside anyways.
