would be really boring to watch. females in general are genetically terrible at video games. im a huge esports fan but i would never waste my time watching an all-girls tournament because i have no interest in watching stuffty, average players
I'm pretty sure the entire point of it is to show the extremely above-average players...

Well, you see, over the centuries the human males genes have evolved to make them genetically superior to the human female in terms of conventional video games.

It's a natural adaptation to let them get all the collectibles in the wild to feed the tribe.

jesus christ lol

You aren't gonna go into any detail? That's quite a claim to make.

What?

"lesbian" isn't the significant part, "couple" is—while it's not really that significant and can't be classified as an "advantage" in any official way, it does in most cases contribute to attachment and as such in some cases also teamwork.

apparently they dont believe in survival of the fittest

Okay, but one, it's possible to have attachment to another same-love team member while being heteroloveual, as friendship is a thing.
And two, if being a couple somehow makes them more successful in teamwork, then this only reflects on how poor-quality the other team is. Just because you may be romantically involved with someone doesn't mean you would work better in a team with them.

And then ultimately, there's no mention of this rule being about Lesbian Couples. It's about having multiple Lesbians or other LGBT+ individuals on the same team.
They make the claim that being a Lesbian (or LGBT+) somehow gives you an inherent advantage over a heteroloveual player. Which of course is absurd.

Our initial ruling on LGBT player restrictions within the Iron Solari League has created a lot of good discussion and debate over the past 24 hours. After discussing the ruling with our partners and re-examining our approach, we have decided to remove these restrictions completely. This means that any player who self-identifies as female will be allowed to participate. We sincerely apologize for any offense we caused to the LGBT and gaming communities.

Our original intent when we put together this tournament was to promote diversity in the competitive gaming community. Hence, we are grateful to our players who have consistently provided their feedback to help us learn and improve as we strive to develop an inclusive gaming environment for all. We’ll also be keeping our promise of having an open dialogue with all parties as we plan this and future events.

We hope you will tune in to support these awesome teams and players in this upcoming tournament.

All in a day's work, internet.

"After discussing the ruling with our partners and re-examining our approach"
