Author Topic: Are iPhone 6+ Supposed to get hot?  (Read 1523 times)

Just less than a week ago, my iPhone 6 Plus (Gold) was delivered, after setting up the phone and using it a few days, it begins to get hot after 10 minutes of using it. I find this very irritating and this doesn't happen with my 5S, is this normal or Apple never decided to test it and forgeted up and thus making it bendable and make cant-hold-for-toolong iPhone 6+. Or is it just me? Anyone getting this as well? Help me please.

Yeah some iPhones get hot if they're doing a lot.

My Moto X gets hot, as does my brother's Blu Vivo Air. I guess it's kinda standard for phones, I've seen it a lot.

No, I mean, it just gets hot so fast..

If it gets too hot for use it will warn you

Are you using 3G/4G?
It does have 4G, but I just use wifi, and it still gets hot.

What apps are you running?

if it gets too hot, then put it in the oven at 500. the phone will think it's cooler because it's inside a hotter environment, and then everything will be fine.

this'll do it.

everyone I know said they never had another problem with apple products again.

I have the regular 6 and it stays cool as ice even when charging

I can attest that this works. The high temperatures will reflow the the board (probably do it better than apple's slaves ever could,) making the device run cooler.

youve gotta be careful with oven based reflows. the temperature isn't very constant and sometimes the board will warp if heat isn't distributed equally. the best choice for reflows is probably hot air + IR preheater

If it's especially hot, as in uncomfortable or even painful to touch, then you should take it back to wherever you purchased it from, or your local Apple Shop or w/e.
Show them how hot it gets and ask them what they can do about it. Whether it's a repair or replacement.

I know they can get very hot, and my old iPod Touch used to get really hot too when it was doing too much.
One thing you can do to mitigate the awkwardness of using it, would be to get yourself a nice case for it, but not one of those skin-tight ones. They can give you somewhere that's cool enough to hold it.
