In my opinion a Major Clan is any large well known clan that that requires an application and only a small number of people get into.

I don't see how you could dislike them. Take USSR for example (Nope, I didn't say MotE this time), Facechild made a clan a few years back. Got a few good builders and it took off. And now everyone either loves them, doesn't care or is "omg facists omg rubbishj i h8 usr."
