because you're missing out on a nice community (for the most part, depends on the phone) and nice ecosystem of apps

and the nice thing with android is if you don't like the software, you can change it to your liking. My phones software was stuff so I changed it and I'm very happy with the phone, and if you don't want to do that then you can just install a custom launcher

If I had to choose, then I'd choose android.

Personally though, I'd prefer a Windows tablet over any smartphone. It is a fully functional computer that can fit in your hands.

in the end the type of person you are doesn't matter, but if you're a "techie" you can get so much more out of an android than an iphone. I've also noticed that androids tend to last longer and run better over time than iphones, externally and internally. Personally I hate apple software, and how restrictive/proprietary apple products/software is. I myself am a coder and a tech nerd so I love the customization of androids-- with some time and effort you can modify your device to the point where it's basically a whole different phone
