iphone - if you want a small simple smart phone that wont poop on you. (small doesnt apply anymore because of the 6/6+. if you want a big phone just get a loving android)
android - if you want an advanced and at the same time simple smart phone. the advanced part comes with a downside to the whole phone. it poops out on you as it ages. it happens with all androids for some reason. (dont get one if you want to just show off how big and bad it is because no one actually cares what phone you have)
windows - basically another simple smart phone that wont* poop on you. never tried one but my next phone in the future will be one of these
blackberry - dont unless its the ones with physical keyboards which are for fast texting and business.
although the z30 and z10 are the only phones who have programmers with a brain that seem to understand how multitasking actually works. (it actually multitasks in real time instead of freezing apps like android and iphone does)
my advice is get a small phone (~iphone 5s size) dont get a phablet because youll regret it later. i know i did when i thought the original galaxy note was going to be the stuff. that includes the 6/6+. people dont seem to understand that holding a tv in your pocket isnt convenient and never was. its easier to use a phone with 1 hand than it is with 6 hands.
if youre getting it with a plan the price doesnt really matter when it comes to either
