A CRCIA HAS OCCURRED

SPANISH CIVIL WAR

Nationalist Spain and its supporters:
- Germany (senior partner)
- Italy
- Cuba
- Japan (no bonus to tech)
- Portugal
- Argentina

Republican Spain and its supporters:
- Soviet Union (senior partner)
- United Kingdom
- France
- Poland
- Mexico
- Bolivia
- Chile
- Australia
- Romania
- People's Republic of China

Undecided Great Powers:

Abstaining Great Powers:
- United States
- Brazil

This is a special crCIA event. The Spanish Civil War, often referred to as the "dress rehearsal" of World War 2, saw the development and refinement of tactics and weapons never before seen in combat. This event, instead of coming to a diplomatic resolution, will be a tooth-and-nail struggle between the communist Republicans and the fascist Nationalists to see which ideology gains another follower. Use this time to spread the influence of your preferred beliefs and advance your technological prowess*.

Also, because this is a special crCIA event, Great Powers will not be penalized for not taking a side. If they have absolutely no intention of getting involved, then they may abstain by declaring so.

*not applicable to nations like Japan

Argentina expresses support for Nationalist Spain and sends goods their way.

Recent talks between Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay have gone very well. Argentina begins constructing additional railroads to both countries to further support trade.

Japanese Warships: forget off

bolivia and chile have decided to support republican spain

democratic europe, for fear of being portrayed as purveyors of bolshevism, are apathetic to act

the siege of nanking, against all feasible odds, has fallen into the lap of the communists

a remarkable invading force numbering somewhere near 400,000 with 300,000 in reserve out maneuvered the sleeping republicans in an early-morning night attack. divisions of 25,000 went on search and destroy missions in the twilight to pillage republican encampments and disrupt roadways to prevent additional british and republican troops from reinforcing. after the initial raids, defensive lines were set up among the various outskirts of the capital and then a full-frontal assault was committed to drive out entrenched british and republican troops. mustard gas, utilized by the rebels, was used in some residential areas to provide for the final blow, forcing chiang kai-shek himself to retreat to avoid the chemical attack

the sino-soviet-mongol horde was led by aleksandr vasilevsky, a truly talented strategic mind

while several areas of the city now need to be scrubbed, the communist rebels have requests gas masks from the soviet union, if they have any

the communist party of china, now in control of nanking, has declared itself the one true china

whether anyone feels it necessary to support this claim is up to them

the loss of the capital has not left the republicans in a position to want to surrender, however, and they are willing to fight until the end
