Don't listen to Na Pulse, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Windows 8 is a fine OS and if you can't get used to the new start menu then there are modifications you can get which bring back the old start menu.

Kind of. You can use the Windows Compatibility Layer (WINE) to run Blockland, but it's probably not going to run as well unless you are able to go through the absurd process of installing non-standard graphics drivers that work with your GPU. (This is just assuming you use a graphics card and don't just use an APU or something)
I bought a windows 8.1 pro key...I may have made a mistake by not knowing how/where to redeem it...I just want to download an iso to a flashdrive.
You input the key when you boot from the installation media IIRC.
