It's not that the death penalty is totally a terrible idea, it's just that the justice system is not infallible, and human life is too valuable to bargain on the standard of reasonable doubt.
I'll argue that torture is never okay though. Unethical and unreliable.

well if someone is ever so bad that they should get a death penalty then they're probably gonna get shot in the face eventually anyways

yea and i should be the one to do it

hey Nonnel do you ever make the topic about art? There's like millions of conceptual arguments to be had about art. just asking "what's music" could go on forever. perhaps this could be a fun idea for the thread. thanks, love mega bear.
Second additional question: does mega bear deserve the death penalty?

Second additional question: does mega bear deserve the death penalty?
now that's music to my ears

practically speaking, it's a waste of money, and incredibly risky
morally speaking, it's just revenge. murdering a murderer doesn't fix the problem, it just kills one more person

also worth mentioning that it fails fairly frequently and when it does it causes extreme pain for the inmate being executed

it's a lot crueler and more fitting that they serve five or so life sentences then get sweet release

knowing prison they'll get a good dose of pain and suffering before they clock out

YES!! END THE BEAR

Who cares

If you've been proven to be a huge piece of stuff warranting death, I don't really care about how your last seconds feel

If the death penalty program doesn't do everything in its power to make sure it doesn't happen, it would be unconstitutional. That's one of the many reasons that this question is being raised. You can't just say "Eh I don't care, even if it tortures them for a while before they die, it's whatever."

It's rare, but I'm with Foxscotch on this. Completely against it.
