While it obviously won't melt them into a molten liquid, steel beams will begin to expand when heated to 1,000 degrees or above. This greatly diminishes their structural integrity and can cause them to buckle or bend.

Not in standard circuimstance, because construction steel's solidious is 1130 degrees celsius and jet fuel's open air maximum burn temperature is 1030 degrees celsius.
