Windows if you prefer gaming.
Debian or Ubuntu if you do simple stuff like word-processing or coding.
Arch Linux if you're one of those experimental people.

i haven't run into any bugs with Linux Mint and you can make it look pretty like 10
any distro can look like 10, it's moreso the desktop environment you use
KDE imo is probably the closest to 7, 8, and 10

Yeah, Linux Mint is cool and all, but I'm just talking about compatibility. when I said "basically windows 10," I was also referring to how files and types of files are recognized, executed, etc.

If it has native execution of Windows NT exe files, then it isn't Linux. It's Windows NT. They're mutually exclusive.

Wine gets kinda close to this though. It's a compatibility layer that provides the expected functions and a fake Windows NT-like environment.
