Author Topic: I'm Getting the Shakes - College is Crazy  (Read 3020 times)

Got this in my email less than 30 minutes ago.

I just realised something.

I started school in 2000. 1999 if you want to say Pre-School. It's now 2015, and this is my final year of education. Ever (unless if I want another degree down the road, but I'd have to pay off my Government debt first). Like, in less than 10 months, I'm going to be out of school. I'm done. Finished. Free.

Holy stuff.

I feel like I'm standing on the very edge of a huge cliff, and I can feel all the wind blasting by. It's loving intense. 15/16 years of education nearly completed.

But then, once this is all over, where do I go? What do I do? I gotta make video games, since I'm not gift enough to get a job anywhere else. That's a lot of stress right there.

This is going to be one hell of a year.

Topic Question: Are you excited to finish schooling at one point? If you've graduated Primary/Secondary/Uni/College, how did that feel?

Lucky bastard. 3 more years and I will be free.

It's nice to be free from schooling, you realise how much time there really is in a day and its weird seeing people still in school for a while.
Until you get a full time job and your time gets taken up again.
Dont stress so much op, you've got a lot of time and a career is only a little thing compared to the possibilities of your future. Hell I'm not planning on having a career at all, but that's just my own ideal.
Just relax and see where life takes you.
Also travel.

ha, 4&1/2 more years and i'm free from obligatory school, then i can take 2-4 years of (mostly) free uni!

I'll still have school for a good couple of years but I agree with you that it's scary. I don't even know what I want a degree in. I like writing and have thought about journalism but I also just want to write novels. There's also the fact that English is probably my best subject so I'm not sure if I want to teach it or not

European education, it's more difficult and longer. Currently 17 y/o, will get out of highschool on 19, then keep going in college until 23. That's when I officially finish my education path and can work.

This is just for higher education though, theres lower education in my country where you can stop at 18.

idk if im gonna start college immediately. maybe give it a year. ppl say this is bad because you'll lose the groove of school and getting back into it is much much harder than just going right after, and ive also heard people get the sense of feeling left behind, but stuff student debts scare the stuff out of me. knowing how unstable i am i feel like it would be a recipe for disaster, at least right after high school. plus its probably too late anyways  :cookieMonster:

forget it i highly dislike school. i know college is way different from highschool obviously but ive been attending school for 12 yrs i think i deserve a break 8)

What these people say is true. I have experience.

Well I'm finishing school this year too, but then I move on to further education. I plan on getting a BSc.

Time to jump

86 days before I graduate from high school. I hate this place so bad and just want to be out of here. I'm going to be doing several years of college though, both at community and university.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I'm done with high school in 3 months

That's what they call Internship/Major Project, and I'm at terminal velocity right now.
